Age Management

Sermorelin

Sermorelin is a synthetic version of the naturally occurring growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) produced in the pituitary gland. The main role of GHRH is to stimulate the pituitary gland to produce and release growth hormone into the bloodstream, which may aid in regulating metabolism. This, in turn, may improve body composition by aiding with glycolysis (sugar metabolism) and lipolysis (fat metabolism). Sermorelin is also used to counteract the natural decline in human growth hormone (HGH) levels as a result of age. While the body naturally loses muscle mass and bone density, sermorelin may help fight these changes and promote the development and maintenance of lean muscle mass. By stimulating the release of growth hormone to facilitate anabolic boost (muscle growth), sermorelin aids athletic performance by breaking down into nitrous oxide and providing more oxygen to the muscles. Additionally, older studies suggest that Sermorelin may help to regulate insulin sensitivity and improve sleep quality.

Wellness

1. NAD+

NAD and NAD+ occur naturally in the body. They play a major role in the chemical process of generating energy. NAD+ is probably the most important co-factor for improving mitochondrial function. Mitochondria are intracellular organelles (AKA “energy powerhouses”) where micronutrients are converted to energy-rich ATP molecules for the cell. As we age, our body’s NAD levels gradually drop with age, inflammation/oxidative stress caused by environmental factors. This drop in NAD+ can cause fatigue, mental fog, dull and tired skin, and poor sleep quality. Boosting NAD+ may help manage a wide spectrum of diseases, ranging from diabetes to cancer. NAD+ Research has shown that NAD+ may have potential for fighting the effects of addiction. Excessive alcohol and drug use diminishes the amount of NAD naturally found in the body; by reintroducing it through NAD therapy, cravings and withdrawal effects may be reduced as a result. Additionally, NAD+ has been shown to boost serotonin, aiding with symptoms brought on by depression and anxiety.

2. Glutathione

L-Glutathione, is a powerful antioxidant comprised of amino acids cysteine, glycine, and glutamic acid. Glutathione has many functions. It is vital to mitochondrial function and necessary to produce DNA. As a powerful antioxidant, it may help fight the effects of free radicals, which cause oxidative stress, damage healthy cells, and contribute to aging and certain degenerative illnesses. Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant and is beneficial for many disease states as well as helping people live a healthier life. It may improve immune response, help to metabolize toxins and activate enzymes, aid the liver in metabolizing alcohol, reduce the amount of fat stored in the belly, help to reduce oxidative stress, and improve complexion.

3. Vitamin D

Vitamin D is crucial to the building and maintenance of healthy bones and teeth. Calcium, the primary component of bone, is only properly absorbed by your body when vitamin D is present. Vitamin D is created within the body when direct sunlight converts a chemical in your skin into an active form of the vitamin. Vitamin D3 is the perfect supplement as it is the natural form of vitamin D that your body makes from sunlight. Vitamin D can come in several forms. Receiving vitamin D3 injections can treat and prevent the symptoms of vitamin D deficiency, including fatigue and bone pain. Vitamin D deficiency has been associated with an increased risk of death from cardiovascular disease, cognitive impairment in the elderly, severe childhood asthma and cancer.

4. Lysine

Lysine is one of the nine essential amino acids in the human body, which act as the building blocks of proteins. Lysine is necessary to healthy growth and plays an essential role in the production of carnitine, which is critical to several processes in the human body, including healthy heart and brain function. Since the body cannot synthesize lysine, adequate levels of the amino acid must be obtained from dietary sources and supplementation. Lysine may be used for athletic performance, symptoms of diabetes, managing symptoms of the herpes virus (cold sores), and more. L-lysine also helps the body to absorb calcium. Because of this, it is also used in the treatment of osteoporosis.

Hormone Replacement- Women

Millions of women rely on bioidentical hormones to alleviate menopausal difficulties, fertility issues, and hormonal imbalances.

While there are dozens of commercially available hormone products, they often come with limitations. These products serve a broad population rather than the individual. Compounding allows us to address the specific needs of each patient. By customizing the dose and dosage form, and route of administration, we can create a personalized hormone therapy plan.

This individualized approach enables us to titrate the hormones appropriately, achieving the desired clinical effect while minimizing side effects. Every woman is unique and responds to therapy in her own way, making close monitoring and adjustments essential for optimal results.

Hormone Replacement - Men

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or men primarily target testrosterone levels. As men age, their testosterone production decreases, peaking around 20 years of age. Testosterone levels typically decline slowly until about age 30, after which the decrease becomes more rapid.

For younger men, the average testosterone level is around 650 ng/dl. Adult males with levels below 300 ng/dl are considered to have low testosterone (hypogonadism).

While the decline in testosterone is usually gradual, some men may experience sudden changes. HRT can help manage these changes, improving overall health and quality of life.
